Job Objective:
To ensure that all UAV products and components meet established quality standards and customer requirements through the development and implementation of quality control procedures, testing protocols, and inspection processes. This includes identifying and resolving quality issues, maintaining quality documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for incoming materials, in-process components, and finished UAV products. Create detailed inspection checklists and testing protocols based on product specifications.
- Conduct inspections of incoming materials and components to ensure they meet quality standards. Verify that materials match specifications and are free from defects. Document any non-conformances and work with suppliers to resolve issues
- Perform in-process quality checks during various stages of UAV assembly to ensure adherence to quality standards. Monitor production processes and identify any deviations from established procedures. Implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct final inspections of finished UAV products to ensure they meet all quality requirements. Perform functional tests and verify all features and specifications. Document inspection results and identify areas for improvement.
- Operate and maintain testing equipment used for quality control, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and motor testers. Ensure equipment is properly calibrated and functioning correctly.
- Collect and analyze quality control data, prepare reports, and communicate findings to management. Identify trends and patterns in defects and use data to recommend process improvements.
- Identify, document, and manage non-conforming materials and products. Investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventative actions. Track the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality control documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and procedures. Ensure documentation is easily accessible and complies with relevant standards
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality control processes and procedures. Participate in problem-solving activities to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
- Ensure that all quality control activities comply with safety regulations and guidelines. Promote a culture of safety awareness within the QC department.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality. Assist in training production staff on quality control procedures and testing methods.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Technical Expertise: Possesses a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in electronics and mechanical assembly.
- Quality Control Knowledge: Deep understanding of quality control principles, methods, and techniques.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with testing and measurement equipment used in quality control.
- Data Analysis: Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret quality data.
- Documentation Skills: Experience in creating clear and concise quality control documentation.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Language: English language skills sufficient to read and understand technical documents, and communicate with international partners.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in a quality control or quality assurance role is required. Experience in UAV or aerospace manufacturing is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with quality management systems, such as ISO 9001.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) methods.
- Certification as a quality engineer.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with using software for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with PCB manufacturing processes.
Authority
- Authority to stop production in case of safety or quality concerns.
- Authority to quarantine non-conforming materials and products.
- Authority to recommend changes to improve quality control processes.
- Authority to approve or reject incoming materials and finished products.
Coordination Relationship
- Works closely with production engineers, process engineers, and other quality control personnel.
- May coordinate with the supply chain and procurement teams to ensure quality of incoming materials.
- May interact with external auditors and customers as necessary.
