Job Objective:
To operate and maintain CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts for UAVs, adhering to design specifications and quality standards. The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up machines, monitoring their operation, and ensuring the quality of the finished parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up CNC machines, including loading materials, tools, and programs, and adjusting machine parameters as required.
- Operate CNC machines to produce parts according to design specifications. Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality.
- Perform quality checks using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to verify part dimensions and ensure compliance with tolerances. Identify and report any quality issues.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on CNC machines, such as lubrication, cleaning, and tool changes. Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Load and unload materials from CNC machines. Handle and store materials safely and efficiently.
- Maintain and organize cutting tools and measuring instruments. Track tool usage and report when tools need to be replaced.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including machine setup parameters, production quantities, quality issues, and any other required documentation.
- Work effectively with other team members to meet production goals. Assist others as needed and participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, suggesting ways to improve processes and eliminate waste.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in CNC machining is preferred.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience operating CNC machines.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- CNC Knowledge: Knowledge of CNC programming and machine operation.
- Measuring Skills: Proficient in using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, and lift heavy materials.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot basic machine malfunctions.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Communication: Basic communication and reading skills to understand work instructions.
- Language: Ability to understand work instructions in the local language.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with specific CNC machines used at the factory.
- Experience in aerospace or electronics manufacturing.
- Formal training or certification in CNC machining.
