Job Objective:
To design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for UAV production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This includes developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), troubleshooting production issues, and improving workflows to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and document manufacturing processes for UAV assembly, including defining the sequence of operations, equipment requirements, and material specifications. This includes creating detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs. This involves monitoring production data and identifying bottlenecks.
- Participate in the selection, procurement, and validation of manufacturing equipment, including SMT machines, soldering stations, and testing equipment. Ensure that equipment is properly installed, calibrated, and maintained.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures at various stages of production. Establish quality standards for raw materials, in-process components, and finished products. Monitor quality metrics and take corrective action as needed.
- Provide technical support to production staff, assisting with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and process deviations. Implement solutions for any production problems.
- Work with supply chain teams to manage the flow of materials into and through the production process. Ensure materials are available when needed and that inventory is properly managed.
- Collect and analyze production data, prepare reports, and communicate findings to management. Use data to make recommendations for process improvements and production planning
- Ensure all production processes adhere to safety regulations and guidelines. Promote a safety-conscious culture within the production area.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient production processes. Develop and deliver training programs for production staff on new processes and equipment. Assist in training new personnel on manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for all manufacturing processes, including SOPs, work instructions, and equipment manuals. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Continuously seek out and implement opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. Stay up-to-date with the latest manufacturing technologies and practices.
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant manufacturing and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Technical Expertise: Possesses a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in electronics and mechanical assembly.
- Process Improvement: Proven ability to analyze and improve manufacturing processes.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with SMT equipment, soldering equipment, and other manufacturing machinery.
- Data Analysis: Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret production data.
- Documentation Skills: Experience in creating clear and concise process documentation, including SOPs.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Language: English language skills sufficient to read and understand technical documents, and communicate with international partners.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Experience with UAV manufacturing is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Experience with quality management systems.
- Knowledge of robotics and automation in manufacturing.
- Experience with PCB manufacturing processes.
